Stephanie is a mental health counselor whose specialty within the field revolves around working with children, adolescents, and their families. She has worked with culturally diverse individuals experiencing trauma-related stress, anxiety, depression, behavioral and relational issues, ADHD, and other issues related to emotional dysregulation.
Stephanie has helped many individuals develop effective coping strategies and maintain resiliency in the face of adversity. Although her counseling style is fundamentally person-centered and strengths-based, she believes in the importance of creativity, flexibility, and eclecticism in order to appropriately attend to each individual’s needs. Promoting personal strengths and success, Stephanie feels pride and fervor in her involvement in people’s change process towards their maximum potential.
Stephanie’s prior experiences include conducting individual psychotherapy and group counseling with children, adolescents, and adults in a school-based program and an outpatient treatment program. She utilizes child-centered approaches and incorporates play therapy methods into her sessions when working with children and adolescents. Stephanie received her M.Ed in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. John’s University. She is a National Certified Counselor (NCC).
She has completed Level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and attended Play Therapy training specializing in Adlerian Play.
